Vol. 1 – From the Rocking Chair at Washington Park Inn
Welcome to the inaugural post of This Week in Albany—your new favorite guide to all the goings-on, happening happenings, and can't-miss park-side moments near our beloved Washington Park Inn.
Whether you're here for a quick getaway, a Capitol power trip, or simply came for the porch (no judgment—we get it), we’ve got you covered like a picnic blanket in July.
This week? It’s a veritable spring bloom of local delights:
Tulips & Tunes: The park is showing off early this year. Daffodils are giving way to tulips, and if you sit quietly on our porch with a croissant and coffee, you might just hear a rogue saxophonist warming up for JazzFest (coming soon).
The Rep is Alive with Laughter: Head over to Capital Repertory Theatre where “Puffs” is casting spells and cracking jokes—a must-see for anyone who didn’t get their Hogwarts letter but still has a sense of humor.
Lark Street Music Crawl + Lark Hall: Saturday night is shaping up to be a movable feast of indie rock, jazz trios, and backyard DJs. Start at Savoy Taproom, catch a show at the always-electric Lark Hall, then let the rhythm lead you wherever the night takes you.
Weather Check: Mostly sunny with a flirtation of rain midweek. Pack layers. Or don’t. We’ve got umbrellas and a fireplace in the parlor—your week, your vibe.
Dog of the Week: Meet Clementine, a sassy beagle mix who checked in on Monday, demanded cheese from the fridge by Tuesday, and now believes she owns the porch. Honestly, we support her delusion.

Stay tuned every Monday for our rundown of what’s brewing, blooming, and bouncing around Albany. We’ll keep it fresh, funny, and just informative enough to impress your Uber driver with your local intel.
Until next week,
Rock steady,
The Innkeepers at Washington Park Inn 🪑🌳🍷
